Hamzah Sheeraz stops Liam Williams in one round in London

In a brutal performance Hamzah Sheeraz knocked out Liam Williams in one round of the fight in London.

The Briton stretched his 100% record of 19 fights, knocking down Williams twice due to his rapid speed.

Sheeraz, 24, kept his pledge in fact, stopping the former world title challenger Williams.

I had a myriad number of hesitants prior to this fight who believed that I am not good enough to match a fighter of this level, Sheeraz said.

I talk with my hands in the ring. Once I get in here, I entertain.

Williams had been exuding confidence throughout the build up to the fight, the implication being that Sheeraz's team had made a terrible blunder accepting the bout, but that bravado was short-lived.

The stiff jab and power shots by Sheeraz were too much for the Welshman. He went down just after the first minute and crashed to the floor again from a brilliant counter uppercut.

Frank Warren, the promoter, joined Sheeraz at ringside for one of the most brilliant young stars produced the best performance of his career yet against his most dangerous opponent by far.

Warren recommended Chris Eubank Jr as the next opponent for Sheeraz, saying few can match his man.

He is like Tommy Hearns in a big way with that jab. He knocks you out with it. The power of it is unbelievable, said Warren.

I really feel that a star is born and I really feel that he will win a world title and hold that title for as long as he wants.

Yarde vs Buatsi will be icing on the cake after Nikolic loss

On the undercard at the Copper Box Arena, Anthony Yarde moved another step closer to a clash with old rival Joshua Buatsi as he disposed of Marko Nikolic quickly.

Buatsi looked on as Yarde walks Nikolic to the canvas in only three rounds from some well-aimed and powerful body shots.

Yarde, 32, grew up his great record of knockouts to twenty-four stoppages in twenty-five victories.

Buatsi went to Yarde’s side for the post-fight interview, saying sorry for crashing the moment, both of them confirming that negotiations were taking place for a fight in summer.

We both agreed that we were going to get moving.

Artur Beterbiev's fighting Bivol, if Joshua and me fought for a [potentially vacant] world title, that's a cherry on the top of the cake.
