Manny Pacquiao has a big 2024 coming up, and he wants to make it even better by fighting Floyd Mayweather again.
In 2015, Pacquiao and Mayweather fought back. Then Mayweather won by a unanimous decision. Pacquiao would later tell everyone he had a big problem with his shoulder when they fought. This made people wonder how it might have ended if "the Pac-Man" was fully fit in the match.
Maybe we'll get a chance to know if the RIZIN Fighting Federation can arrange this fight. Mayweather has fought twice for a Japanese fighting sports group, and Pacquiao was there at their big RIZIN 45 NYE event to announce the fight planned. Or are they hoping it can be made?
RIZIN boss Nobuyuki Sakakibara took Manny to the ring and asked, "Can you fight against Floyd Mayweather?" Please.
"Thank you a lot for having me here again," Pacquiao said. "I apologize for the last time, we were supposed to fight previously like what Mr. Sakakibara told us." I hope to see you in Japan next year for a big fight against Floyd Mayweather. I believed you wouldn't want me to share that news. But I can't wait for that."
It's not clear how much talks have been done for a Pacquiao vs. Mayweather rematch. As the biggest event you watch and pay for in fight games, you know it will require a lot of money to make this work. And this would be a big change for Floyd Mayweather, who fights mostly YouTubers and famous people on his activities after retiring.
Even if it happens, this wouldn't be the next fight for either fighter. Mayweather is going to fight John Gotti III again in February. Meanwhile, Pacquiao will take on Buakaw Banchamek from Muay Thai in April.
